Alliance & Leicester’s Branch Network is part of one of the UK’s leading major financial services. Our customers enjoy an outstanding face to face service, which offers them a full range of products tailored to their needs. These range from personal loans and mortgages to current accounts, retail savings and much more. We also provide life assurance and long term investment solutions from Legal and General and have partnerships with a number of market leading suppliers to give our customers a true one-stop-shop.

Current Accounts and Savings
Part of the Retail Bank, Current Accounts and Savings is one of our largest business areas, serving over 2 million customers – who, between them, make about 34 million calls to us each year!
Over 900 talented, capable people are on hand to meet their needs at our virtual Contact Centres in Ashford, Leeds, Bootle and Leicester. These leading-edge operations deliver 24-hour customer service and sales expertise via telephone and internet banking channels, and our Customer Sales Advisors are responsible for both customer service and business development.
Our industry leading reward and recognition scheme creates a high performance, target-driven culture. Mortgage Operations
2005 was the best year ever for our mortgage business – and the 800 talented and committed customer advisors, managers and specialists in our four business areas are set to achieve even more in 2006.
- Intermediary Sales and Service, Leicester and Belfast:
- Develops relationships with and serves our Intermediaries and strategic partners, developing profitable new opportunities within specialist mortgage markets.
- Mortgage Customer Operations, Leicester:
- Responsible for the retention of existing customers, the provision of ongoing support and service, and co-ordination with internal customers.
- Mortgage Direct Operations, Wigan:
- Delivers sales support to customers who apply for mortgages via the internet and telephone, and processes branch mortgage applications.
- Valuation Services, Leicester and across the UK:
- Provides a full range of valuation products and services through an in-house team of Valuers.
Personal Finance
Since 1989, Alliance & Leicester Personal Finance Limited (ALPF) has offered unsecured personal loans at extremely competitive rates. Today it employs around 500 people, mostly in sales, and is responsible for the processing and administration of all personal loan applications from Alliance & Leicester customers.
The rewards are fantastic at ALPF, as well as uncapped bonus schemes, there are lots of other incentives for people to work towards. Last year our Top Performers won a safari trip to South Africa, this year they will be sending them to Thailand.
There are many opportunities to progress, the majority of managers were Advisors themselves and everyone is extremely supportive of peoples aspirations.
